Select Achievements and Extra Curricular Activities

During my time within Scouting Ireland, I and a good friend completed the 2013 Explorer Belt challenge.

Ireland's Explorer Belt is recognised as being one of the most challenging yet ultimately rewarding activities available to Rover Scouts in Irish Scouting

Rover Scouts, in teams of two, must travel a distance of at least 200 km on foot, and 100 km in public transport, over 10 days, completing various tasks along the way. These tasks include maintaining a log of the journey, consisting of a daily route, menu, budget and account of the day's activities. Each team must also complete a number of prescribed challenges, which encourage the participants to engage with the local populace and to learn about the local culture.

In university, I was a delegate in the 2017 John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition (JMUCC) in Montreal. JMUCC is an annual, multi-round case competition, organized by a committee of students from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. The week-long event takes place in the heart of downtown Montreal, and challenges twenty-eight international teams from renowned business schools.

Demanding and dynamic cases mixed with unique social events inspired by the city itself make JMUCC a one-of-a-kind case competition that allows students to put their creative and analytical skills to the test. Throughout the week, each team is required to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the classroom towards solving live business cases. Their analysis is presented to a panel of respected judges and industry specialists who carefully evaluate the presentations and determine one winning team. JMUCC 20217 Recap Video.
